Method Consulting Swindon
The opportunity
Method Consulting wanted to relocate its office to a new space in the heart of Swindon city centre and create a workplace that better reflected its professional brand and the way its team works.
The brief was to create a highly functional and collaborative environment that felt professional while remaining welcoming and comfortable for employees. The new office needed to support both formal meetings and informal interactions, encouraging teamwork, productivity and stronger connections between colleagues.
Improving the employee experience was also an important part of the brief, with a focus on wellbeing, comfort and creating a stronger sense of community within the workplace.
The approach
Kerr developed a workplace concept focused on utilisation, collaboration and creating a strong sense of identity.
A range of breakout areas was introduced throughout the office, providing opportunities for spontaneous meetings, informal conversations and social interaction. These spaces were designed to make collaboration easier while supporting Method Consulting’s culture and encouraging employees to connect away from their desks.
The design also incorporated Method Consulting’s professional brand into a welcoming workplace environment. Working alongside M&E consultants, Kerr developed a considered lighting scheme using soft ambient lighting across the office.
Rather than relying solely on functional lighting, the scheme was used to highlight key areas and introduce a warmer, more homely atmosphere. This helped create a space that felt modern and professional without becoming overly corporate.
The impact
The completed office provides Method Consulting with a modern and functional workplace that supports both collaboration and individual day-to-day working.
The introduction of dedicated breakout areas has created more opportunities for informal interaction and spontaneous collaboration, helping strengthen the company’s sense of community.
The carefully considered lighting and welcoming design details have also improved the overall atmosphere of the office, creating a more comfortable and enjoyable environment for employees.
The result is a workspace that combines Method Consulting’s professional identity with a more relaxed and inviting workplace experience. As Partner Alex Mason explained, Kerr’s design solution made the space “interesting, modern and functional”, while the overall process was simple and effective.
