Catalent Workplace Refresh
The opportunity
Catalent’s reception, boardroom and washrooms were beginning to feel dated and no longer fully supported the needs of the business or its people.
As the first point of contact for clients, the reception needed to create a welcoming and professional impression, while the boardroom required a refreshed environment to complement its recently upgraded AV technology.
Employee wellness and inclusivity were also important priorities, making the improvement of the washrooms and associated facilities a key part of the refurbishment.
The approach
We created a modern, understated environment that reflects Catalent’s professionalism, values and focus on innovation and wellbeing.
The design takes subtle inspiration from Catalent’s work in drug development and encapsulation, incorporating soft, pill-inspired forms throughout the space. This provides a visual connection to the company’s work without making the design overly literal.
The project also involved navigating complex services within the ceiling void, which had developed over time through numerous service changes. Our technical expertise enabled us to develop practical solutions while maintaining the overall design intent.
The washrooms were transformed into modern, single-occupancy facilities, with features including illuminated mirrors, integrated hand-washing facilities and sanitary product dispensers to support wellness and inclusivity.
The impact
The refurbishment created a fresh and contemporary arrival experience for Catalent’s clients while providing improved facilities for its people.
The updated reception provides a professional and welcoming first impression, while the refreshed boardroom offers a comfortable and functional environment for internal teams and meetings.
The upgraded washrooms further support Catalent’s focus on employee wellness and inclusivity, bringing together functionality, accessibility and a considered modern design.
