The opportunity
With a lease event approaching and the business continuing to grow, Kongsberg Norcontrol Ltd faced an important decision: relocate to a new premises or make better use of the workspace they already had.
Rather than taking on the cost and disruption of a move, the opportunity was to transform the existing 4,500 sq ft workspace into a more efficient, welcoming and inspiring environment. The new workplace needed to maximise the available footprint, create a stronger arrival experience for staff and visitors, support employee wellbeing and reflect Kongsberg’s professional and innovative brand.
The approach
Kongsberg Norcontrol Ltd. explored the market and invited multiple design & build partners to pitch, including their incumbent provider. To demonstrate our approach, we invited their team to tour recently completed Kerr projects and speak directly with clients.
These authentic conversations gave Kongsberg valuable insight into our collaborative process and the high-quality outcomes we consistently deliver.
Confident in our expertise, they awarded us the project, with one clear challenge: deliver the transformation at speed. Fast mobilisation and agile delivery are core strengths of the Kerr approach. Our project manager, Steve Bath, and site manager, Jon Silk, led the works with precision, adapting to last-minute additions without compromising programme or quality.
Within eight weeks, the space was reimagined to meet the brief, overcoming constraints through intelligent design choices and seamless coordination across the team.

By engaging early, demonstrating proven capability and aligning delivery to business-critical timescales, we were able to provide a solution that avoided relocation costs while enhancing employee experience.
The impact
The completed project enabled Kongsberg Norcontrol to unlock significantly more potential from its existing premises without the cost and disruption of relocating.
A striking new entrance now creates a stronger first impression for staff and visitors, while the optimised internal spaces provide a more supportive and engaging working environment for employees. The finished workplace also reflects Kongsberg’s identity and demonstrates its investment in its people.
Most importantly, the project was delivered on time despite evolving requirements, providing Kongsberg with a transformed workplace that better supports its growing business while making more effective use of the space it already had.
