This November, Kerr Office Group turns 30!

Anyone who has ever started their own business will understand the highs and lows involved but, as our MD Jon Kerr explains, overall it’s a journey filled with unforgettable moments.

“On 10th November 1986, the family business began at Bumpers Farm in Chippenham. At the time, the company was selling office stationary supplies, with my mum doing the books,” says Jon.

“Over the years we’ve acquired numerous skills and expertise that have helped us evolve from a purely sundries supplier to a full design and development business, creating inspiring offices for the future.

“The hard work that we’ve put into this transition means we can now focus on what I love most about this industry – being creative and helping clients truly transform their spaces for the better.

“Having gone from strength to strength, the company is many times larger today and is still family owned and controlled, including Alex, my son and second in command. I’m so happy to say we’ve still got family at our core, 30 years on.”

Looking ahead

As with all businesses, Jon and the team are continually planning ahead. “We’re really excited about some large projects we’ve got coming up with some high-profile clients – hopefully, with their permission, we’ll be able to share their stories with you throughout the coming year.”

And to celebrate their anniversary, KOG are taking the next step forward – this time into an impressive new headquarters in Swindon.

“The concept for the building (over and above our own working space) is for our partners and clients to use the selection centre to their full advantage,” says Jon. “We want them to get some hands-on experience with sample fabrics, blinds, flooring products, ceilings, lighting, wall coverings, claddings and more.”

“We’re also investing in large, multimedia, interactive screens that will not only help our designs to come to life for our clients, but also enable us to communicate with our teams out on site.”

The new facility will also showcase products from some of KOG’s trusted partners such as Komfort Partitioning Systems, Armstrong Ceilings, Samsung, Dyson, Miele, Senator Furniture, Ocee and Interstuhl.

Who knows where KOG’s journey will take us over the next 30 years? Hopefully we’ll meet you along the way…
