Find out more about Agenda and her role at Kerr:
Hi Angela! Can you tell us a bit more about what your role entails?
Certainly! I’m a Technical Interior Designer at Kerr, which means I work with the initial design ideas and ensure they are practically possible.
A typical day involves a morning huddle with the team, lots of CAD drawings and potentially a meeting with a contractor or client to discuss design ideas.
I’ve been with Kerr for around a month now, but one of the things I love about my role is seeing my designs come to life!
I also enjoy working as part of a team. I look forward to interactions with people, whether that’s the core team or external partners, there’s nothing better than getting stuck into conversations with clients to learn about their wants and needs.
Since starting at Kerr, I’ve enjoyed the flexibility of hybrid working. I work at home three days a week and I’m in the office for the other two. It’s nice to have collaboration time in the office, but I plan my week to complete more focused work at home.
How would you say you embody the Kerr Promises?
Exceeding customer expectations has always been important to me. If I put myself in the client’s shoes, I would want to be happy with the level of service I’ve received. I believe you must exceed expectations to uphold good customer retention and reputation. Not to mention, I also get a great amount of joy and pride in doing a great job for my clients!
I’m always curious to deepen my understanding of things I’m interested in. Recently I completed a project management course as this is an area I’m interested in. At Kerr, we’re always looking at solutions to streamline and improve our work. The design team is brilliant and our collaborative approach to work means we’re constantly learning from each other.
If you were a superhero, what superpower would you have?
If I was younger, I’d probably say something cool, like super speed, or super strength however now I’d want something that could serve a practical purpose.
If I could have any superpower, I’d like the ability to physically create what I’m thinking in my mind. Imagine being about to think of a design and it would appear in front of you on the page – or even better, be built there and then!
